POSSIBLE CHILD LURING ATTEMPT

St. Clair Drive – (1200 block Washington Road)

Mt. Lebanon, PA, September 17, 2016– At approximately 1 p.m. today, Saturday, a young female child was playing in her front yard when a white sport utility vehicle (SUV) pulled to a stop in front of the residence on the dead end street.  The young girl related to us that the male driver lowered his window and told her that he had something for her in his vehicle.  He reportedly requested that the young girl come over to his vehicle and get inside.  In accordance with what our police officers teach in the schools, she immediately ran away from the SUV and into her home.  The young girl was not harmed.  A teenage sibling who was home witnessed the vehicle in front of their residence from the second floor.   The sibling did not have any direct contact or interaction with the SUV driver during the encounter.   The suspicious male did not exit the vehicle to approach the young female child.  The SUV reportedly pulled away when the young girl ran into the house and left the area by making a right turn (north) onto Washington Road.

We have obtained the following information about the driver and the SUV.  The driver of the SUV was described as white, in his mid to late fifties, with a receding hair line or partially bald.  He was wearing a neon green or yellow collared shirt.  The vehicle in question was described as a mid to full size white SUV with an external spare tire mounted on the back.   The spare tire cover was remarkable in that it was gray and had yellow marking that resembled a vertical crescent moon on the back surface.  The yellow marking may have had a black border or outline.

If you recognize the description of this vehicle/male, please IMMEDIATELY call 911 and contact the Mt. Lebanon Police with any information or leads.  We thank you in advance for helping us identify this person of interest so we can make every possible effort to protect our children.
