**UPDATE– Suspect arrested** – Pedestrian Struck – Driver Left the Scene​ – Serious Injuries ​

As a result of the investigation into this incident that occurred on McNeilly Road on the evening of October 23rd, MLPD Traffic Unit Officers obtained an arrest warrant for the following individual believed to be involved in this leaving the scene crash:

Madeline Panarello
55 yrs old
3111 Glendale Avenue
Pittsburgh, PA 15227

Panarello was arraigned earlier this afternoon by District Justice Gary Zyra on the following charges:

– PAVC 3742 (a) – Accidents involving death or personal injury (Felony – 3rd degree)

– PAVC 3746 (a)(1) – Immediate notice of accident to police department (Summary)

– PAVC 3714 (a) – Careless Driving (Summary)

Previous Release:

​The Mt. Lebanon Police are investigating a Hit & Run crash that occurred on 23 October 2014 at approximately 1700 hours. A female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle as she was walking eastbound in the 900 block of McNeilly Road in Mt. Lebanon.  After the pedestrian was struck, the vehicle fled the scene, continuing east on McNeilly.  The female was transported to Mercy Hospital with serious injuries.

Investigation has revealed the vehicle involved may be a 2006 or 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt, possibly light in color (Attached photo is a stock photo of a Cobalt).  At this time there is no description of the driver.  The passenger side mirror was broken off and the passenger side headlight should be damaged.
